This is the type of project we absolutely love to do. House tranformations.
1333 is an existing little house in the upper Hawthorne area of Portland. It's a little 1947 ranchalow that's about 860sf total on the main floor. There is a full basement as well. We are looking at adding a whole new second level to this little box and transforming it into a little modern neighborhood gem. After some thinking (doodling) with the black marker, that produced a bunch of chicken scratch that only makes sense to us, we launched right into some 3D computer modeling. Here we are in the process of refining the design idea and exploring composition and new exterior materials. New cedar vertical siding, mixed in with some off-white stucco, painted hard-board panels, new windows, strategically placed skylights... Moving along nicely so far.
