Becker Residence - Medina, OH
Ski Lodge East as it's affectionately called, is a custom 3,400sf home in Ohio. It is set amidst tall cedar trees on a sloping site. The challenge here was to make a big house look small. The house responds to grade changes with its own elevation changes, as it moves across the landscape. Local wood, Ohio limestone and gables were the name of the game here. Extensive custom woodwork throughout the house adds to overall ski lodge feel and general coziness. The house combines traditional looking architecture with a modernist spin to the floor plan and overall composition. We didn't build this one, somebody else did and they did a nice job - Koenig Brothers Construction, look em' up when you're in Ohio.
